High levels of Gender Based Violence (GBV) calls for action
Over the past years our country, South Africa, has experienced high levels of Gender Based Violence (GBV) . Many women remain assaulted, abused and even worse continue to loose their lives at the hands of people they live with, are in love with or interact with on regular basis in their homes and within our communities.
Even though this has been flagged as Crime, one of the worst crime against humanity, a good number of these abuses happened at the hand of perpetrators who are related to the victims in one way or the other, therefore, for lack of better words… we generalize this a CRIME.

This position does not overlook that other men are also on the receiving end of such abuses by both women, children and other men, but it has been statistically proven that women, children and the elderly are the most affected.
This crime has also demonstrated that it does not choose colour, age, social standing academic achievement nor religious and spiritual believes. It is for that reason that an initiative like We Are The RIGHT Men aims to penetrate all communities at large.
Call to end Gender Based Violence (GBV)
We are the Right Men
A number of calls to end this human-rights violation has been made, yet the scourge continues to rise. Much talk has been made… but has not resulted in good enough change. This has been demonstrative enough that :
“Talk with NO Action”
...does not result into anything fruitful.
- Action has to be taken.
- Education is needed
- Different approach to socialization of our young men is needed as a matter of urgency
